Glyn Hughes is the president of Mountain Management Services and CHI Memorial Medical Group. He oversees the day-to-day operation of CHI Memorial’s physician enterprise division, which employs 120 providers with offices throughout southeast Tennessee and north Georgia. He manages corporate health services provided by Mountain Management to employers in the Chattanooga region. Mountain Management Services also provides full management services for 45 physician practices under a contractual agreement.

Glyn has an MBA from Sheffield Hallam University in England and is a senior professional in human resources (SPHR) with the Society for Human Resources Management. He has 20 years of experience in working with health systems in the areas of physician practice management, strategic/business planning and managed care contracting.

Rick Tate, MSHA, MBA, CMPE
Director of Physician Operations

As a director of physician operations, Rick is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Mountain Management Services’ primary care clinics and CHI Memorial’s physician answering service and after-hours nurse triage service.

Rick has worked with physician offices in an administrative capacity for both primary care and specialty medicine throughout his career. Aside from managing the daily operations of physician clinics, he has extensive experience with new physician practice start-ups, practice acquisitions and business development. Rick has recruited more than 50 new physicians to the Chattanooga community to support the core service lines of CHI Memorial.

Rick holds masters degrees in health administration and business administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is a Certified Medical Practice Executive with the American College of Medical Practice Executives. He is also a member of the American College of Health Care Executives.
